Founded in 1639, Guilford has an unriveled Green in the center of town
Bicyclers wind their way through town west toward beautiful marsh areas to Stoney Creek and the Thimble Islands. Other hearty cyclers travel northward toward Haddam on the Connecticut River for a rigorous day trip. There is plenty of salt water fishing, or if you are looking for the freshwater, Chatfield Hollow park in Killingworth, is 20 minutes northwest of Guilford on route 80.
Kayak along the shoreline coves, or walk and hike the local park trails.Guil fords artists and galleries are plenty, you’ll enjoy a visit to the Guilford Handcraft Center. You can take an evening sail with dinner or see a play in Haddam or New Haven. There are wonderful seafood restaurants, but should you catch a fish I’ll cook it for you.
